Tell us what you would like to sell; photos help us prepare. 2 #### Testing in front of you At the appointment or at your home, we test the purity and weigh your items on a certified scale. You see every step. 3 #### Written offer **Weight × purity × today's price**, minus our margin, which we state before any agreement. No obligation to accept. 4 #### Contract & payment If you accept, you sign a written sales contract. Payment by bank transfer or cheque – never in cash. ## Selling gold in France: *what to know* ### No cash French law only allows dealers to pay private sellers for precious metals by bank transfer or cheque, whatever the amount (Article L112-6 of the Monetary and Financial Code). We pay by SEPA transfer, including instant transfer, to any European account; please bring your IBAN. For non-SEPA accounts, ask us before your visit. ### ID A valid passport or national ID card is required: every purchase is recorded with the seller's details. ### 48-hour cooling-off period You can cancel the sale within 48 hours of signing (Article L224-99 of the Consumer Code): you return the amount received and get your items back. Payment can still be made straight away. This does not apply to **investment gold** – bars and most bullion coins such as sovereigns or the 20 francs Napoléon. ### French tax A French flat-rate tax on precious metals may apply. Sales of up to €5,000 are exempt. Above that, we withhold the tax and pay it to the French tax authorities, so you have nothing to declare in France. The amount appears on your written offer before you sign. For tax in your country of residence, ask your own adviser. ### Travelling with gold If you carry cash or equivalent assets worth €10,000 or more when entering or leaving the EU – gold bars and coins can count – you must declare them to customs. Check the rules of your home country before you travel. ## Buying gold *and silver* We also sell investment gold and silver (bars and coins) and jewellery, priced on the day's rate.
